Paul + Hana

Paul and Hana were married on a stunning September day at the General Clinton Park in Bainbridge. Before the ceremony, my second photographer, Karla Clair and I split up to get photos of the bride and groom getting ready. Hana was at her home, and Paul was at the Roswell-Wright House Bed and Breakfast in Unadilla. I always enjoy photographing some of the formals ahead of time, but what was the most fun was seeing all of the cute kids dressed up for the day! I love weddings where children are just running around and having a good time! I was particularly excited to photograph this wedding because I know some of Hana's family and how fun and artsy they are, so I was looking forward to seeing all the details. I've never seen the pavilion at General Clinton Park look so lovely! The decor was a mixture of rustic and elegant that left everyone amazed, and everywhere were flowers provided by Hana and her family (I'd recognize those hydrangeas anywhere!). Guest favors were packs of tomatoes grown on Paul and Hana's farm, Downhome Acres. Hana even made her own hops and hydrangea chandelier to hang over the dance floor. Her father grew the hydrangeas, and her uncle Randy grew the hops. Her Aunt Pam put together the bride and bridesmaids gorgeous bouquets. But beyond the obvious visual appeal, Hana and Paul's wedding was a very beautiful occasion full of emotion and love. You can see the love in their faces during the ceremony, their joy during the toasts, and oh my goodness, how much fun they had on the dance floor! It was a night full of love, laughter, excellent food, and great music! Congratulations, Hana and Paul! Karla and I were happy to share your special day!

That dress; wow!

The wine box ceremony was something I hadn't seen before; Paul and Hana wrote letters to each other that they weren't allowed to read ahead of time. Along with a bottle of wine, the letters are sealed into the box. If they ever get into a major fight, they are supposed to open the box and read each others' letters to remind themselves of why they fell in love. If not, they still get to open the box 5 years later and enjoy the wine!
