Gavin + Carol
Last September found my kiddo and I taking a little road trip to Michigan. A good friend of mine was getting married and asked me to photograph her wedding. But this goes deeper than just photographing a wedding for a friend... Carol and I met when we were both working in the same photo lab in Baltimore years ago. She started her own wedding photography business not long after, and I started shooting with her. I learned so much in the years we worked together, and I don't know that I would have had the confidence to pursue a career in photography without the valuable knowledge I gained in that time. I bought my first digital camera from her when she upgraded gear, and even made enough working as a second shooter to buy a brand new Nikon D300 back in 2009! (It was a big deal back then!) We both ended up moving back to our respective home states and hadn't seen each other in person for years. It was so much fun to see her again, and meet Gavin, who had me laughing all weekend. Also getting to meet so many other awesome people and enjoying a few drinks and listening to music in the pavilion after the wedding was a great part of the weekend! Hopefully it won't be so long until we get to hang out again! Congratulations, Carol and Gavin! You deserve all the happiness that life can throw at you! Cheers!
