Weekend Trip to NY
We took an unexepected trip to visit Jake's family in early September. I did not bring my professional camera, as I knew swimming would be involved, so I wanted to use my underwater point and shoot camera again. There is something oddly liberating about using a camera that has no settings whatsoever to adjust. You just point, and shoot. Inevitably, I end up wishing I had brought the "good" camera, but the underwater camera gets the job done in most cases; the "job" being to capture a moment in time.
Felix splashing her mother.
A rare thing: my self portrait. This one is taken with the camera underwater and my head out of the water.
This one is with my head under the water, as you can see.
More underwater Felix.

Some hay rolls in a field. I always thought they look like giant marshmallows. I love this picture. It was taken from a moving car.
Jake's grandparents with the great-grandkids.
Felix with her cousins, Joshua and Ronin. I LOVE that tree's shadow on the ground. I should have taken a picture of just that shadow afterwards!
These next few shots were taken with a roll of what was probably about 8 year old slide film I've had laying around, hence the poor quality. But the look is very old-timey. It reminds me of looking through my parents old photo albums with pictures from the 70's in them. Plus, I absolutely love the black border from the scanner these were scanned with.
