Paul + Cat
Paul and Cat knew of one another since seventh grade. Paul says that he fell in love her when he saw her for the first time. Apparently he had a crush on Cat for quite a few years! They started dating their senior year. Cat says she initiated it when she realized what a genuinely kind-hearted person he was. Their first day of senior year took place during the 2011 floods, and she remembers him saying to her in the most sincere and concerned way to drive carefully home and let him know when she got there. Says Cat: "This was only a week into “talking” before dating and I may have fallen in love in that moment. The rest was history after that."
They got engaged after six years of dating. A week long vacation was planned in North and South Carolina to celebrate Cat's birthday. They were going to visit family and then stay at Myrtle Beach. Halfway through the trip, they woke up early to watch the sunrise on the beach. When she turned around, Paul was on one knee. "We were able to relive that intimate, sweet moment on our honeymoon where we also to get up early to walk the beach and watch the sunrise. I am definitely thankful he proposed in a way that it was the two of us."
Covid delayed their original date, but a year later, it was on! The Hampton Inn had a beautiful spot for an outdoor ceremony. On this perfect sunny day, Paul and Cat's friends and family gathered to witness their love for each other. I think the look on Paul's face when he saw his bride for the first time says it all. After the ceremony and some photos at the ceremony site, Paul and Cat and I hopped into my messy car, (because Cat had forgotten her keys upstairs, ha ha!) and we drove over to Cazenovia lake for a few pictures of them alone. After a multitude of photos, it was revealed that a bee had climbed all the way up Cat's dress from the bottom up to the chest and was now stuck and making an uncomfortable buzzing sound. At first, Paul thought the fence they were leaning on was electrified! I can honestly say that was a first. So back to the hotel for bee removal and reception. And let me tell you, the dance floor pics in this post are just a fraction of the fun and dancing that went on that night! I remember Cat saying to me at one point that she hoped the inflatable instruments weren't tacky, and I was like, Uh, no, I wish every wedding had inflatable instruments! It must have been that everyone saved up all the fun for that extra year and were just waiting for the wedding day to let it all out! I was there to witness it, and I can believe it! I'm so honored that I was able to be part of such an amazing day and with such awesome people. Congratulations, Paul and Cat!
