Mike + Kate

Mike and Kate chose an interesting date for their big day; Leap Day! Mike and Kate are both involved with the Sidney Fire Department. In fact, they first met when Kate started working there, and the rest is history! They chose the DoubleTree by Hilton as their wedding venue and it was fun to be working in a citiscape for a change; what wasn't fun was the frigid cold and crazy winds! The formals were an interesting mix of everyone braving the cold for a bit, and then going back inside to work with the indoor environment. It led to some creative thinking and I'm actually pretty pleased with the end results! And I can't overstate how much I enjoyed Kate's rogue veil that went wild in the wind. Often, wind blowing the veil can be a pain in the butt, but we really got some great shots and some particularly funny ones as well with that veil whipping around! While this might be the last wedding I get to photograph for a while, that doesn't change the happiness I feel for Kate and Mike when I look back on their celebration. Best wishes for you both, and stay warm!

The wedding party had some delicious Awestruck Cider to start the day with!

Cheers!

My flashes are synced together and I loved this moment where Kate's niece was trying to figure out why the flash was seemingly going off by itself!

I'm seeing double!
