Ed + Marki

Ed and Marki met online during the height of the COVID epidemic in December of 2020. Their first date was at the Main Street Grille in Afton. On Christmas morning of 2021, Ed proposed to Marki, and as you can see, the answer was yes!

I had so much fun working with Marki and Ed. I photographed her daughter's (who happens to be our friend!) wedding last year, so there were a lot of familiar faces. And as a guest/photographer, I had fun mingling with the crowd, and even got some dancing in later in the night!

The whole day was spent at the Major's Inn, a favorite event venue in Gilberstville NY. From getting ready in the elegant rooms upstairs to the sparkler send off on the lawn at the end of the night, we all took advantage of the beautiful scenery the Inn had to offer.

Before the ceremony, Ed and Marki had a distinctive "first-look." Rather than have Ed turn around and see her, they picked the perfect spot where they could walk around the curve of the building and see each other at the same time. And the stonework in the background was just gorgeous!

Everything was decorated beautifully by Marki's daughter, Danika, who did the table decoration and centerpieces, as well as the arch for the ceremony. And the catering by Elena's Michael Catering in Oneonta was fabulous! Nathaniel Iverson stepped in as DJ and kept the party going.

I'll end my post with some words from Marki:
